Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 2 – "Disengage"The Shrike has a secret weapon in Star Trek: Picard season 3, and what could be the villainous Captain Vadic's (Amanda Plummer) ace-in-the-hole may spell doom for Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the USS Titan-A. The malicious Vadic revealed herself in Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 2, "Disengage," confronting Picard and the bridge crew of the Titan on their view screen. For reasons yet to be revealed, Vadic wants Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), who was outed as the son of Picard and Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). Naturally, Jean-Luc refused to hand his son over to a bounty hunter.
Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 2 shed a bit more light on the masked and cloaked minions Captain Vadic surrounds herself with aboard the Shrike, their huge and fearsome pirate ship. Jack and Beverly Crusher have been pursued by Vadic and her forces for weeks, but strangely, the adversaries who have tried to apprehend Jack have impersonated Fenris Rangers, Klingons, and even Starfleet Officers. Vadic unleashing the Shrike on the Titan shows she is playing for keeps, especially after Picard chose to run instead of turning Jack over. Picard season 3, episode 2 ended with the outmatched Titan fleeing into the Ryton nebula, with an oddly giddy Vadic in hot pursuit aboard the Shrike.
