Warning: The Following Article Contains SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 6 – "The Bounty" There are several good reasons why Star Trek: Picard should continue the story of Starfleet in the 25th century in the form of showrunner Terry Matalas' proposed follow-up series Star Trek: Legacy. Picard season 3 has garnered a hugely positive response for the way that it continues the story of the beloved Star Trek: The Next Generation characters while introducing an incredibly charismatic new generation of Starfleet officers. The crew of the USS Titan-A, led by Captain Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick) have become instant fan favorites and many Star Trek fans are eager to see them in their own spinoff show.
Terry Matalas' Star Trek: Legacy would be that dream spinoff and would tell the stories of "the Last Generation and the Next." While Patrick Stewart had previously stated that this will likely be his final adventure as Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (while also teasing "never say never") other TNG actors are still very eager to continue after their positive experiences making Picard season 3. This, combined with the prospect of revisiting characters from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, is just one of many reasons that make Legacy such an enticing prospect to continue the story of Picard's 25th century universe.
