Star Trek: Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas has revealed what title he would call his potential new dream Star Trek series. More than halfway through its third and final season, which is equivalent to a 10-hour Star Trek: The Next Generation movie, Picard season 3 has received raves from critics and fans. But currently, Paramount+ has announced no plans for what's next after Picard season 3 or a follow-up Star Trek project for Matalas and his team.
On March 22nd, Terry Matalas responded to a Tweet from TrekMovie.com encouraging fans streaming Star Trek: Picard season 3 to help determine a continuation of the show's 25th-century characters and adventures. Matalas clarified that Star Trek: Legacy, the hashtag in @TrekMovie's Tweet, is what he wants a post-Picard show to be called. Check out his Tweet below:
With Star Trek: Legacy, Matalas has an eye on furthering the fusion of the two generations of Star Trek that Picard season 3 began. Moreso, Matalas and his team of writers and creatives, including production designer Dave Blass, want to build out the exciting 25th-century era after Picard season 3.
