Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 8 – "Surrender." A victorious Star Trek: Picard season 3 moment for Captain Vadic (Amanda Plummer) has already been undone by Captain Cristóbal Rios (Santiago Cabrera) in season 2. After she took the bridge of the USS Titan-A in the closing moments of Picard season 3, episode 7, "Dominion", Vadic sets about taunting Jack Crusher (Ed Speelers) by threatening to execute each of the Titan's bridge crew, one by one, every ten minutes. As Vadic taunts Jack, she tests out the chair of Captain Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick) and, unsurprisingly given her hatred for the Federation, shows a considerable lack of respect for it.
The Changeling villain is hellbent on having her revenge for the cruelty she experienced during the Dominion War when she was cruelly experimented upon by a Section 31 scientist. In control of the Titan, Vadic has the power of life and death over its crew and decides to conduct her own psychological torture. Surprisingly, Vadic's disrespect for Starfleet, and her psychological mind games are undercut by the cigar-chomping former captain of the USS Stargazer (NCC-82893), Cristóbal Rios.
