Production of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 has been delayed because of the writer's strike. Strange New Worlds season 2 is set to premiere on Thursday, June 15, on Paramount+. The cast and crew were scheduled to begin production on Strange New Worlds season 3 on May 2nd in Toronto. However, the Writer's Guild of America (WGA) has gone on strike to fight for better terms for its members over issues such as streaming residuals and the threat of A.I. replacing writers. This has impacted not only Strange New Worlds season 3's production but the filming of other Star Trek series as well.
As reported by TrekCentral, Strange New Worlds season 3's production halted on May 2nd, the same day the strike began. On Twitter, Strange New Worlds actor Melissa Navia, who plays Lt. Erica Ortegas, Tweeted her support of the writers in response to a Tweet by Bill Wolkoff, one of Strange New Worlds' writers on the picket line. Check out the Tweets below:
