Star Trek: Discovery's upcoming fifth season will be its last. Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, Discovery premiered in 2017 and has since run for four seasons following the exploits of Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), who rose from being a disgraced Starfleet Commander to becoming the Captain of the USS Discovery. The ensemble cast of the series, which is originated as a prequel but is now set in the 32nd century, also includes Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, Blu del Barrio, David Ajala, and Tig Notaro. Since it began, Discovery has also won several awards, including 2 Emmys from a total of 10 nominations.
Per Deadline, Star Trek: Discovery season 5 is now set to be the end of the series. The season will premiere on Paramount+ in early 2024. Because of the gap between this announcement and the season's premiere, Paramount+ is set to celebrate the legacy of the series throughout the next year at various events.
