Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 6 – "The Bounty"A shocking bombshell in Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 6 answers a huge question about Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) that has lingered since Star Trek Generations. In Picard season 3, episode 6, "The Bounty," Captain William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd), and Captain Worf (Michael Dorn) infiltrate Daystrom Station and discover it holds an evolved, human-like Soong android that contains aspects of Lore, B-4, and Data (Brent Spiner). But the Starfleet away team also unexpectedly comes across what Section 31 did to Captain Kirk's body.
Captain Kirk died at the end of Star Trek Generations. Originally thought killed when he saved the USS Enterprise-B in 2293, Kirk was transported into the Nexus, where he unwittingly spent the next 78 years. Kirk met Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) of the USS Enterprise-D in the Nexus, and he agreed to join his fellow Captain of the Enterprise in 2371 to stop Dr. Tolian Soran (Malcolm McDowell) from destroying the Veridian star. Although Kirk and Picard's team up accomplished their mission, Jim was mortally wounded and died. Picard buried Kirk in Veridian III, and there was no canonical follow-up to what happened to the original James T. Kirk – until Star Trek: Picard season 3.
