Picard executive producer Terry Matalas promised season 3 would also serve as a sequel to DS9 and deal with the aftermath of the Dominion War. The Changelings emerging as the saga's villains not only deliver on that promise, but they were hiding in plain sight all along.
The investigation by Worf (Michael Dorn) and Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) on M'Talas Prime yielded information on the Changelings that no one on the USS Titan-A is aware of thus far. Worf entered the picture because he was contacted by Odo (Rene Auberjonois) who warned him a rogue faction of Changelings couldn't accept losing the Dominion War and broke from the Great Link to exact revenge on the United Federation of Planets. These Changelings include one posing as a human named Titus Rikka (Thomas Dekker), and they broke into Daystrom Station to steal experimental weapons, including a portal-making device. Meanwhile, the Titan has at least one known Changeling aboard. Here are all the clues Star Trek: Picard season 3 doled out that the shapeshifters from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine are back.
