Data (Brent Spiner) meeting Dr. Agnes Jurati (Alison Pill), Star Trek: Picard's new Borg Queen, could resolve several loose threads resulting from his resurrection. Agnes was the research partner and former lover of Dr. Bruce Maddox (John Ales), who had a long-standing fascination with Data. Star Trek: Picard season 3 didn't reveal if Data was informed about Maddox's murder, or the scientist's experiments that led to the creation of Data's daughters – Dahj and Soji Asha (Isa Briones). Meeting Agnes Jurati and her benevolent Borg Collective would update the more human-like Data on the tragic fate of both Bruce Maddox, and his daughter Dahj.
Now that the original Collective has been destroyed forever, only the more advanced and benevolent Borg led by Dr. Agnes Jurati remain. When they were last seen in Star Trek: Picard season 2, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) had granted them provisional Federation membership. The status of this new Borg Collective and their entry into the Federation could provide huge story potential for Terry Matalas' proposed Star Trek: Legacy show. If the show gets the green light, then an episode involving Data, Soji and the new Borg Queen would be the perfect way to resolve Data's Picard story.
