Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 9 – "Vox"Star Trek: Picard's Jonathan Frakes shares his concept for what Will Riker's role could be in the proposed spinoff, Star Trek: Legacy. As Captain Riker, Frakes is delivering career-best performances alongside Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the reunited crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Star Trek: Picard season 3 has been so well-received, the fans are clamoring for Star Trek: Legacy, a continuation series pitched by showrunner Terry Matalas.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant to raise awareness for Trek Against Pancreatic Cancer, Jonathan Frakes was asked his thoughts on Star Trek: Legacy, if it happens, and Frakes pitched his idea for how Will Riker could fit into a Star Trek: Legacy spinoff. Read his quotes below:
Jonathan Frakes: I kid, but I only half kid, when I say I think it would be great because… It feels like the legacy characters are gonna be Jeri [Ryan, Seven of Nine] and Raffi, and the offspring, obviously… Geordi has two daughters in the show. Crusher and Picard obviously have a son. Maybe Troi and Riker's offspring shows up.
So I had this concept that Riker would be sort of like Charlie in Charlie's Angels, and they have to come to my office once a week. And I get to direct the show and produce a show and be part of it that way, but not have to carry the acting part of it.
Screen Rant: That'd be awesome. And I assume as Admiral Riker, finally.
Jonathan Frakes: Yes, finally.
